Activities included beautifying parks and recreation areas, cleaning seashores and waterways, handling recycling collections, picking up litter, planting trees and flowers, and conducting educational programs andlitter-freeeventsGreat American Cleanup.

Litter Is…

...misplaced, man-made or man-used solid waste. Litter is the symptom; mishandling of solid waste is the behavior, and attitude is the problem.

The Seven Sources Of Litter:

  • Improperly containerized household garbage
  • Improperly containerized commercial refuse
  • Loading/unloading Areas
  • Uncovered trucks
  • Construction/demolition sites
  • Motorists/boaters
  • Pedestrians

  • Last year 8 million dollars was spent on cleanup in Tennessee.

When you litter, you set a bad example for others. Use a trash can, or better yet, recycle.

    Stop it. Stop litter!
Stop it. Stop Litter. Tennessee's Had Enough!
